Current Events: Just put together this year's TWO trees for the 3rd annual Blood Donor 'giving tree'! Please consider grabbing an ornament and donating blood, right here at the university campus! When you donate, you can enter the ornament in a raffle to win a Trader Joe's gift card. Each ornament also tells the story of a patient who needed blood (names changed)...your donations are much needed and so appreciated!
Look for the trees in the student lounge (see past events below) and in the new Sherman Center Quinsig Learning Community room!
For any questions about the giving tree, email Sara at Sara.Valente@umassmed.edu or GreatestGiftUMassMed@gmail.com!

Past Events:
UPDATE! The
2012 Blood Donor Giving Tree was a great success! Thank you to all who donated
blood. We know that it is a chaotic time of the year – with finals, getting
ready for the holidays, and traveling home. More than 30 students donated in
those 3 weeks – which is a wonderful turnout! The blood donations are very much
appreciated.
Shameless Plug:
Every year, UMass spends hundreds of thousands of dollars purchasing
blood from the American Red Cross so that we will have enough blood to support
the need here at our hospitals. If you are able and willing to donate, we have
a beautiful new Blood Donor Center right on the University campus. Donating is
quick & easy – if you have a 30-minute window of time, stop by!
Directions: UMass Blood
Donor Center, which is located on the University campus near the Emergency
room. As you walk over towards the ED coming from the main hospital, you will
come to a set of sliding doors (window to your right, stairs to your left),
take a left & walk downstairs 1 level. You can also take elevator D to
level A. Once you are downstairs, keep walking down the hallway until you see
the signs for the Blood Donor Center (on right).
